Corners and water outlets can be secured with sealing collars, tapes and sealing corners. Discover properties of these materials.

Liquid rubber

Liquid rubber is a flexible sealing compound. Its main task is to create a waterproof coat. It is easy to apply and is suitable for use on various surfaces like concrete, chipboard or gypsum board, cement-lime plasters or ceramic hollow bricks.

Liquid rubber protects the surface not only from moisture, but also prevents cladding materials from cracking, such as ceramic tiles. The mass can be used indoors or outdoors. It is not suitable for places such as a swimming pools, where pressurized water is used on the floor’s surface.

Waterproof sealing membrane

Steigner’s waterproof sealing membrane is a special mat made of polyethylene fibres. The mat is tear resistant, but at the same time it is easy to cut with scissors. This allows for easy adjustment to the shape of the surface. Importantly, the fibre is time resistant, so it retains its sealing properties for many years.

Steigner has blue and red sealing mats 1 or 2 meters wide. Sealing membrane is also available as tape, corners and pipe sealing collar. This waterproof material goes best with liquid rubber.

The most perfect duo – installation

Apply a liquid rubber layer to primed surface (we recommend using Steigner liquid primer). When it is still damp, place on it sealing membrane, tape, corners and collar and press firmly. After it dries, apply another layer of liquid rubber and wait for it to dry as well. Next step is to cover the surface with tiles.

Sealing membrane and liquid rubber from Steigner combine to form a water-repellent waterproof coating. It proves reliable and water resistant.

If you want to guarantee humity and fungi resistance in your bathroom, we recommend placing your trust into Steigner products that you can find on Amazon.
